Mount Pleasant Ride

78 deg, light wind
37 miles, a beautiful day

Beautiful day for a bike ride, 78 deg, light wind and friends to ride with, can't beat it.
Thanks to Michael and Clay for helping to organize this ride at the last minute, Michael did a great job of hosting.

Our ride was mainly SW of Mount Pleasant, we went by a game perserve and crossed Bob Sandlin lake, really nice.
We had a couple of new riders hope to see them on another ride, they did a good job.
Only had one flat and it was a bit of a problem because it was one of our new riders with bolt on wheels, a situation most folks aren't prepared for but we got her fixed.

At the end of our ride we went to the "Cook Off" were we got some good barbecue beef, it went good with the Apple Cider that Charmane was nice enough to bring.

Thanks to everyone for coming out, it really makes for a fun day when you have friends to cycle with.

Jerry got a new nickname on this ride. Jerry was going to take a photo with his cell phone, wouldn't work, probably because he feel in the water twice when he went Kayaking on Friday. Charmane told Jerry he needed to get a new phone anyway and that he needed to upgrade, someone said something about an I6, I said Jerry needs an I 7, Jerry shouted out, "I need an I2." Later while riding with Leo, one of our Mexican riders, I was talking to him about Jerry and he said, "Oh, you mean I2," yeah, right, I2.

Also there was this,

I got a kick out of Charmane telling us about her secret for Carbo-Loading for a ride. As Char started talking about her carbo treat she visibly got excited and a look of pure pleasure was in her eyes. She was talking about "Rice Krispie Treats." As she was talking she was swooning and her mouth begin to water, it was really something. And then she got really excited when she told us she had found a 24 pk of treats. I really got a kick out of her telling about how she ate about 20 Rice Krispie Treats, carbo-loading for the "Tour de Fireant," as it turns out the ride was rained out, kind of left Charmane loaded up, funny.
