The Chichi Maulden Tour

January 27/28, 2015
70 deg high, 38 deg low, full Sun and a stary night with a half moon
32 miles with 65 lbs

I have thought about bike touring and the idea sounds interesting to me so I thought I'd take a Mini tour to see how it feels to pedal a loaded bike.

I also decided it would be fun to have some company so I decided to take my friend, Chichi, a five month old Chihuahua.

Ready to roll, I did wear my helmet.

Chichi is ready to go, had to build a cage for Chichi since she jumped out about a week ago. Important to remember which water bottle has the Rum.

On the road approaching Douglasville, nice hill into Douglasville, it's different on a loaded bike

The bridge at Lake Wright Patman, kind of tricky with Log Trucks and Gravel haulers.

Arriving at "Maulden Lake Park"

We met some nice folks at the entry station to the Park, paid the rent and got to our campsite

Unloaded the bike and took a little look around the area, spotted about 40 Turkey Buzzards nesting in these trees

We then went to the Boat Ramp, Chichi's first lake, she's thinking "this sure is a big water bowl"

It was a real nice spot and we had it all to ourselves

Sunset on the lake

Camp set up and got the fire going

It was nice to have Jerry and Roger stop by with some firewood, they visited awhile and Chichi loved it, being held by both

Chichi tucked inside the sleeping bag

Thumbs up to a nice stay at a great spot.
