I'm off to the VA in Shreveport for a CT Scan this morning, and wouldn't you know it, it's a good riding day.

Patrick Bevin (CCC Team) takes the second stage in the "Santos Tour Down Under." There was a hugh crash on the final run in which took out a lot of riders, my boy Sagan made it through for 3rd place.
http://www.cyclingnews.com/ provides a live ticker of the race, starts around 6pm our time.

I'll spend the morning at the gym and I may get in a ride this afternoon since the weather looks good.

A few weeks ago I went for a ride and on my return to the house I spotted a creature on my county road. I couldn't make out what it was, looked like a weasel the way it moved. I stopped and then tried to move closer for a better look but it proceeded to move into the field at the side of the road.
While talking to Roger about it he told me it was a mink, they used to trap them around here but when they started to farm raise minks the trapped ones were no longer valuable because their hides weren't as nice as the farmed ones.
Thirty nine years here and it's the first one I've seen.

Thank goodness Pro Cycling has started in Australia with the "Tour Down Under." With nothing on TV and you can't watch the News so I've been really looking forward to some cycling.

In the first stage of the "Tour Down Under" Elia Viviani (Ita) Deceuninck - Quick-Step takes the win, Sagan, a favorite of mine, took 8th and Lachlan Morton (Aus) EF Education First Pro Cycling took last place, he's a good rider don't know what happened here.

I did manage to get out this afternoon for a 17 mile ride to town and back. The Sun tried to come out but couldn't quite make it, the temp was 48 degrees and no wind to speak of. It felt good to get out, our weather for the next week doesn't look to good for riding.

Rain, rain, rain, a record year for rain in 2018 and we're starting off 2019 with rain.

Well I survived the Holidays and I hope everyone has a better year than the last one.

I do have a ride planned for this Saturday the 5th, about 37 miles, the weather should be fine, I hope. We're meeting at the EZ Mart on Hwy 59 in Linden.
