Good ride today, a favorite of mine, "Sawmill Road."
All three of us rode today, Jerry, Roger and myself. We did a 13 mile loop, with plenty of hills to keep things interesting. I like this ride because when we hit Sawmill Road you drop to the lowest part of the ride and then you have a long climb to the highest part of the ride. I just love this climb, gradual at first then gets a bit tougher and then at the top it's got one of those little kickers, steep and after that it still climbs but at a gentle grade, eventually you reach the top. There is a pay off for this ride, once you start down you get about a mile and a half of coasting all the way to the Sawmill.

Finally up top, nice views since they cut the trees

Today started with a trip to the bank in Texarkana, Teresa joined me. After the bank we went to Wally World, the only place with a couple of Gluten free treats that I like and then we were off to the Mexican restaurant.
Colimas restaurant is definitely our favorite Mexican restaurant, we love the Chicken tacos, we have one each with water, the meal for both of us is 8 dollars plus I tip a dollar, can't beat it.

I met up with Jerry in town at 2:45 for a ride, we did a 17 mile loop, with excitement.
The excitement came when Jerry was wondering around out in the road and a car comes up from behind. I'm in front on the side of the road didn't get a view of thinks until Jerry says, "Looks like we got trouble." I see this older red chevy sitting low on the drivers side and it stops in the middle of the lane in front of us. Out jumps this obvious Trump supporter and he starts to tell us how we need to get out of the way of traffic, he's one of those that thinks bikes have no right to the road.
I tell the guy, "Hey, Hold up buddy, I'll call the police and we'll let him sort this out, he talks a little more shit and then turns and gets back in his car, probably didn't want to see the police since he probably didn't have insurance.
I'll have to admit the whole problem started because Jerry like to wonder around all over the lane, he always has, I don't understand it and don't like it, but that's Jerry and it ain't gonna change.

Thankfully made it home after a visit at the Fuel Center for my daily dose of Covid, had diner, walked the dogs and called it a day.

Today was a change of plans day. Jerry and I were supposed to ride but 10 minutes before I was to leave the house Jerry calls and says he isn't up for the ride, OK.
I get my bike out of the truck and go for a ride to town and back. Nice day the wind was a bit of a problem but not real bad.
On my was back from town I'm cruising down a hill with the wind pretty much behind me when I spot something out of the corner of my eye.
As it turns out it's a herd of some exotic animal, about 8 or 10 of them, not exactly sure what they are, like an antelope. I stop but before I can get my camera out they're gone to the woods.
I stand there and just look at the spot for a minute and all of a sudden I see something coming out of the woods towards me. He's all by himself and here he comes, he comes right up to the fence, I whistle and talk to him a bit and he just walks along the fence. I kind of wonder if maybe somebody has been hand feeding him or something because he didn't seem to be to leary of humans.

Today turned out to be a really nice day. We had full Sun and temps in the mid 50's F.
I walked the dogs this morning and did a little reading and then I got in touch with Jerry to see if he was up for a ride.
I rode my bike to town and met up with Jerry at 3.
We did a loop North of Linden and halfway thru the loop I went North to my place and Jerry went South to town.
We met a really friendly young dog, it reminded me of Petey on Little Rascals, I was thinking Spot, we'll call him spot.
After our ride it was pretty much Recliner and Olympics and Nap then Pizza.

A Good Day.

I'm really getting tired of all the 20 deg temps at night and 30 and 40 deg temps in the day, I'm ready for warmer weather, it's on the way but I'm ready now.
Most of my riding has been indoors lately I just can't get myself to put on all the clothes just to get in a few miles, so I've been riding inside.
Riding inside isn't so bad when you get used to it, just pedaling along watching the tube or listening to music.

I've also been doing a lot of reading, I've been fortunate to run onto a string of good books.
At present I'm reading "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini, a good read. This is the same Author that wrote "The Kite Runner" which was an excellent book.

It should warm up to mid 50's today so I may actually get out on the road this afternoon for a real Bike ride.
