Here is my step by step method of preparing Yerba Matte.
I picked up this method in Costa Rica.

First you need to get you a "Nylon Footlet"
(Not worn or if worn, please wash or it will flavor your tea)

Next roll up the Footlet and place it over your cup, making a pouch inside your cup,
usually I make the pouch about 1/4 the depth of the cup.

Pour in approximately 3 tblspoons of Tea, if you want it stronger put in more tea.

Heat water, not to boiling but hot.

Pour in Water

I like to take a spoon and work it around in the tea to make sure it's completely soaked, let it stand for a minute or two.

Remove Footlet with Tea grounds.
As I remove the Footlet with grounds I use spoon and my thumb to squeeze all tea out of Footlet.

While holding Footlet over bowl turn it inside out and remove tea grounds into bowl.

Rinse Footlet

Add honey to taste.
