Ray Urban's Skydive

9/5/10
Gillam, Louisana

We had a great time yesterday at the Drop Zone in Gillam, Louisana visiting with the family of Ray Urban.
We went to Gillam to watch Ray jump out of an airplane at 90 yrs of age, amazing, let me see, me jump 27yrs from now, I really doubt it, probably won't even be able to jump off the porch.
We arrived a little before noon and promptly met Jennifer, Rays daughter, and Ray.

Had to get a pic of us with Ray

We had us a nice little spot in the shade with the family

Ray and several members of his family were doing Tandem Jumps, that's where you jump with a Jumpmaster, Bill Geaslin is the Jumpmaster at Gillam, and he did a fine job.

Here's a photo of Linda Urban, Ray's Daughter in Law getting ready for takeoff

Ray getting ready to go, 90 yrs old, think you could even get in the plane at 90?

Here's a photo after Rays Jump, Charles, Ray, and Bill Geaslin.
Charles is Ray's son and is an experienced Jumper with over 4000 jumps, including Base jumps

I really liked this photo of Ray and his Family, taken just after his jump.

All in all we had a great day, Ray is truely blessed with a great family, they made us feel right at home and we left thinking maybe we knew his family as well as we know our own, nice bunch of folks.

Right before we left I asked Ray if he was going to jump at the age of 100, he said, "Well, I don't know, maybe at 95," I told him we would be there, simply amazing.
Also I'd like to mention that Ray is the oldest person to skydive in the state of Louisana.
