Tour de Fireant

October 13th, 18
66 degrees, mist to sun
30 miles

Today I went to Marshall, TX for the "Tour de Fireant" bycycle ride.
On the way to the ride in my truck it was raining and I wondered if I would get to ride or not. I had made plans to ride with a friend, Nancy Gore from DeQueen, Arkansas so there was no backing out.

I got to Marshall and there was hardly any rain and I pulled into the parking lot and ended up parking between a couple of my favorite cycling friends, Nancy and Michael Prewitt.
We did a little visiting and then I registered and got ready to ride. Nancy likes to take it easy and smell the roses so I took my touring bike for a nice comfortable ride.

Nine am comes and we're off, not sure how many riders but probably at least one hundred, the Shreveport group always shows up and a few from Dallas.

We had a real good ride, Nancy was very pleased to ride up "Fireant Hill," a nice little climb on the route, we had no mechanical issues and we even went from sprinkles to Sunshine.
The day turned out to be a good one, pizza and beer at the finish, really glad I attended and thanks to Nancy for inspiring me to go.
